Start Work Mode and stay with it.
Open the desktop app, add the Chrome Extension, and let FocusTrack turn real work into XP across desktop, offline, and Chrome work.
First session
- Open FocusTrack on desktop.
- Tell FocusTrack what you are working toward during onboarding.
- Start Work Mode when you are ready to focus.
- Add the Chrome Extension so online work in Chrome joins the same XP system.
- Let XP come from real Work Mode, not from browsing this website.
When the Chrome Extension does not appear
- Refresh the work tab after loading or reloading the Extension.
- Use a normal website tab; Chrome Web Store and internal Chrome pages cannot show the overlay.
- Check that Work Mode is on.
- Return to the extension panel if onboarding asks for a normal website tab.
Privacy and permissions
The Chrome Extension needs permission to appear on work sites, read the active tab address and title on your device, and keep Work Mode active while you work in Chrome.
- Site access lets FocusTrack appear on the work sites you choose.
- Tabs and scripting let FocusTrack classify the active page locally and update the overlay while you work.
- Storage, side panel, idle, alarms, and native messaging keep settings, Work Mode, and the desktop connection working.
